THE
JOURNEY

Orang Utan Island has evolved from a refuge where visitors may gain firsthand knowledge and education about the orangutan to a recognized ex-situ conservation facility for the endangered Bornean orangutan.

A visit to Orang Utan Island will show everyone why the orangutan has become a symbol of Malaysia.

BOAT RIDE

The moment you step onto the lake cruiser, you know you are headed for adventure. As the cruiser cuts through the water, Orang Utan Island beckons closer, now, no more mystery in the distance.

As you alight onto the jetty, keep a look high among the trees, you may spot an orangutan or two, swinging from tree to tree, maybe even taking  a nap.

IN HOUSE GUIDE

Together with nature, we want to inspire people and influence their behavior where possible and allow them to enjoy  everything that nature has to give. We try to provide them with extra information through our in-house guides. We hope that after visiting our sanctuary, people will be inspired to appreciate nature and these intelligent everywhere.

THE ORANG UTAN TUNNEL

A 200-metre walk through the semi-circle steel-fence tunnel enclosure is a humbling experience, where we humans, seemingly in a cage, can peer out and captivated by the orangutans roaming free beyond in the trees, on the grass, by the bushes, by the lake, just about everywhere.
